A qualifying AFQT does not guarantee enlistment or a particular job. Services also apply education, medical, moral, citizenship, availability, and program rules. Occupational eligibility depends on service-specific composite scores, not AFQT alone.
Alternative-credential rules are not uniform. The current standard GED floors are Army 31, Marines 50, Navy 50, Air Force 50, Space Force 50, and Coast Guard 47. Credential classification and exception programs can still affect an individual application.
