The AFQT is a percentile that services use when evaluating basic enlistment eligibility. It is derived from four ASVAB subtests; other qualifications and career composites are separate.
The military combines standard scores from the four AFQT subtests and reports the result as a percentile from 1–99 against the official reference group.
AFQT = AR + MK + (2 × VE)
where VE is a weighted composite derived from WK and PC standard scores
